Heather's speciality areas include: LGBQ+ (sexual minority populations), Transgender/gender non-binary, D/deaf and hard of hearing, sleep issues, adjusting to medical illness/ chronic pain management, and caregiver burden. Heather is able to assist with smoking cessation, testing for medical purposes (bariatric, pre-transplant, hormones etc), and testing for school services (mainly focusing on D/deaf and hard of hearing populations). Heather also consults with medical providers about adding mental health to their practice, and open to providing trainings within the community on a variety of subjects, as well. Dr. Heather Tahler is a clinical health psychologist located in Memphis, TN. Dr. Tahler received her degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and completed her APA-accredited Post Doctoral Clinical Health Fellowship at the Memphis VAMC. Before this, she was the Chief Intern at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial hospital.
Heather has extensive experience treating children, adolescents and adults with diverse backgrounds and ranges of concerns, with her therapy oriented from a systems perspective. She is fluent in American Sign Language and welcoming of clients of every background and orientation, and treats her clients with the highest regard and compassion.
Janeé is a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation who has over ten years of experience working in the mental health field. She graduated from Argosy University Nashville with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling.
Janeé has worked in both the non-profit industry and community mental health field, garnering significant experience and training. Janeé has worked with clients ranging from ages five to late adulthood with various diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and bi-polar disorders. Her positive, calm demeanor is a wonderful balm for those going through a difficult time in their lives. Janeè strives to bring an effective blend of experience, concern and action to the counseling process as a means to promote healing.
Amanda's primary approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and centered on the healing power of relationships. Amanda is trained in several therapeutic approaches--including cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Amanda is also an adoption-competent therapist, who is specially trained to work with therapeutic issues in the adoption/foster care triad. Like us all here at FFC, Amanda is LGBTQ friendly. She is available to provide therapy for children, teens, young adults, and families, and offers evening and weekend sessions.

Jennifer has over 14 years’ experience within the mental health field working with children, adolescents, and adults, providing case management, individual, family and group therapy. Her professional experience includes working with at-risk and under-served youth as a foster care worker, mentor and advocate; providing clinical interventions to children and adolescents exhibiting significant emotional and behavioral disturbances; supplying trauma focused counseling to child sexual abuse victims, providing behavior-based therapy to children on the autism spectrum, providing psychoeducational group therapy, and creating, developing and growing a successful private practice.
Jennifer attended the University of Memphis, where she received a bachelors in Psychology, and attended Freed Hardeman University to earn her masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee and Mississippi.
Debra is a licensed professional counselor/mental health service provider in the state of Tennessee, as well as holding a national certification of CRC-Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Debra received Private Practice Counselor of the Year award in 2011 from West TN Counseling Association.
Debra attended The University of Memphis, receiving both a Master of Science in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. In November 2017, she received her Death and Grief studies certification from The Center for Loss and Colorado State University. Amanda is a masters-level therapist who specializes in trauma and attachment. Amanda has experience with children, teens, and adults. Her professional background is in school social work and community mental health. She has spent several years working with at-risk youth, as well as families who have experienced trauma and disruption. Amanda is passionate about incorporating holistic methods such as art, music, movement, and mindfulness into healing.
Amanda attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a bachelors in social work. She went on to earn a masters degree in social work from Simmons College in Boston. Amanda is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Tennessee.
